Meeting Muluken.
Going into this journey, I was not expecting to be able to meet Muluken and his family, due to my recent start in his sponsorship. Thanks to Tamiru and the amazing World Vision staff, my dream came true. The feeling was more than I can process and put into words. I'm so incredibly blessed to have been able to meet him, his mom& dad, as well as one of his little brothers! We shared in prayer, laughs and games! Overall I'm still pinching myself, this experience has been surreal. God has blessed them with a healthy family and great friends. I couldn't have asked for a better day. I truly have had a change of heart over the length of this trip. Christ has spoken to me through Muluken, as well as the children and amazing people of Ethiopia. I'm finally coming to realize God's plan for me. Even through the rough and emotional times, He has given me strength and opened my eyes and heart to so many new experiences. As I leave this amazing country, I hope to share and inspire youth, as well as the whole congregation, with what I've learned here. I want everyone to know how God has changed my life in these past 6 days, my path is becoming clear and I feel as though a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Becca, I'm so moved by your post and your pictures. I think you have seen first-hand why Christ tells us to draw close to the least of these. It's there that he lives and moves most obviously, right? Our "normal" lives are too noisy and consumed with selfish moments. I can't wait to hear more of your story! -- Esther Chapman
