Today was a very moving day. We saw God's work in so many different ways and faces. Particularly inspiring was the Community Loan Group where 18 to 20 local villagers represent their family on a board. World Vision provides economic development training. The board collects dues which are stored in a lockbox and three different board members hold three different keys to the locks. The concept is that dues are paid and money is distributed during times of need. The money is also available as a loan so that community members can send their children to school and pursue business interests. What is so remarkable is that there are many women on the board and that they have found hope and security and a camaraderie with each other as they pursue the common interest to improve the lives of their families and their community.
