2 days before...

Dear Friends at Faith (Sacramento) and in Faith (around the world),

We are certainly not taking for granted the blessing it is to be able to choose to travel around the world to be able to witness God at work in Ethiopia this next week. We truly thank all of you for your prayers and support and for putting up with us as we have prepared for the journey. As we pack, we are aware that we go simply to absorb, to learn, to grow, and be changed by our experience with this culture and people with which we have partnered for many years.

My bag is down to 112 lbs. Only 62 more pounds to shave! Maybe I don't need all 6 frisbees? No, in fact let's throw in another.

Our pre-trip Journal points us to Mark 10:43-45, which reminds us to leave behind our attitudes of superiority or greatness and to enter into this trip humbly and ready to be led by the spirit.

We ask for your prayers of safety and continued open eyes to God's leading on this trip. We hope to update this blog daily with a picture or two and a note. Thank you for your partnership! We know that we do not go alone but as representatives of Christ and our church.
